This Privacy Policy explains how Band8 Coach ("we", "us", "our"), operator of the Band8 Coach service available at getband8.com (the "Service"), collects, uses, and protects your information. We collect the minimum data needed to run the Service.

1. Data we collect

Account data: email, name (optional), authentication identifiers.
Onboarding data: target band, exam date, weakest module, previous IELTS scores.
Essays & feedback: essays you submit and AI-generated feedback / band scores.
Billing data: subscription status. Card details are handled by our payment processor (Stripe) — we never see your full card number.
Product analytics: pseudonymous events (page views, button clicks) to improve the product.

2. How we use it

To provide AI feedback, personalise your study plan, run billing, prevent abuse, and improve the Service.

3. Sharing

We share data only with the processors that run the Service: our hosting / database provider, our AI model providers (for generating feedback), and Stripe (for payments). We do not sell your data.

4. Retention

We keep account and essay data while your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by emailing support@getband8.com — we will delete your account and associated data within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements.

5. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data. Contact us to exercise these rights.

6. Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is restricted to authorised personnel.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be announced in-app or by email.
