Welcome to Band8 Coach (the "Service"), operated by Band8 Coach ("we", "us", "our") and available at getband8.com. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
Band8 Coach provides AI-assisted feedback on practice essays, AI speaking practice with band-score estimates, and study planning tools. Band score estimates are guidance only and do not represent an official IELTS result. IELTS is a registered trademark of its respective owners; Band8 Coach is not affiliated with or endorsed by the IELTS organisations.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for any activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
Free accounts include a limited number of AI essay checks per calendar month. Premium subscriptions are billed monthly through our payment processor (Stripe) and renew automatically until cancelled. Charges will appear on your statement as "BAND8COACH". You may cancel at any time from the billing page in the app; access continues until the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
Do not submit unlawful content, attempt to reverse engineer the Service, or abuse the AI checker (e.g. automated scraping). We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.
You retain ownership of essays you submit. You grant us a limited licence to process your content to provide feedback and improve the Service. The Service, branding and software remain our property.
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. AI feedback may contain errors and should not be your sole preparation tool.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the previous 12 months.
We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced in-app or by email. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at our place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
